Judge Denies Smalls’ Motion to Suppress Recordings of Alleged Abuse

Recordings that allegedly captured Marty and La’Quetta Small abusing their teenage daughter will be admissible at trial, a judge ruled Thursday. According to BreakingAC.com, Mayor Marty Small and his wife, Superintendent of Schools Dr. La’Quetta Small, are accused of assaulting their teenage daughter. The girl’s boyfriend at the time was on calls with the teen during some of the alleged abuse and captured recordings.
Attorneys for the Smalls argues the recordings violated the state’s wiretap law, saying there was no prior consent.
