Northfield police have announced a local man who had been reported missing has been found dead. BreakingAC.com reports Jefferson Smith was last seen Sept. 9th. At 11 a.m. Thursday, his body was found in a secluded wooded area in Birch Grove Park. Next of kin was notified. The matter is still under investigation, and no word as to whether foul play is suspected in his death.
