Ventnor has approved a $22 million bond ordinance that will pay for the first phase of a state-mandated lead pipe replacement program. Mayor Lance Landgraf estimated the total cost to replace pipes in the city is about $66 million, reports the Press of Atlantic City. The bond ordinance is necessary so the city can begin applying for available grant funding, and now the city will be applying for funding through the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank Financing Program’s iBank and the US Environmental Protection Agency, along with other state and federal resources.
