Middle Township Amends Food Truck Rules

In August Middle Township introduced an ordinance for the regulation of food trucks. The ordinance was adopted in September. At its Monday, Nov. 11, meeting the Township Committee introduced an amendment to the ordinance after hearing complaints from several food truck operators during public comment periods in October. According to the Cape May County Herald, the amended measure maintains the requirement that mobile food venders must obtain an annual license from the township, which must be conspicuously displayed on the vehicle. Most requirements of the ordinance remain the same as stated in the adopted September ordinance. Vendors are now given up to 12 hours in one location within a 24-hour period. The previous limit had been two hours.
