Man Ordered Held Until Trial In Parents’ Murders

A Barnegat Township man has been ordered held until trial in the murder of his parents. The Press of Altantic City reports 34 year old Michael Mulgrew was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon in the Nov. 2 stabbing deaths of his parents, Eugene, 71, and Cheryl, 69, in their township home. Mulgrew was arrested the same day. Mulgrew is believed to have a history of mental illness, including post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, according to an incident report filed by police, as well as a history of unemployment.
