Ribbon Cutting For New Cape May Firehouse

City officials and firefighters are cutting the ribbon on a new fire station at 712 Franklin St in Cape May. The Press of Atlantic City reports the event is set to run from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Residents will have a chance to tour the new building, built under a $5.13 million contract with Duall Building Restoration Inc. of Mount Laurel approved in September 2021.
There have been some change orders since the original contract, but Mayor Zack Mullock says they have been within 2% of the original contract, which he described as a significant accomplishment over two years in which the costs of labor and materials have risen significantly.
