Longport Woman Leaves Lots To Create Park

A Longport woman recently left two beach blocks valued at more than $1.6 million to the borough for creation of a park, among other stipulations. According to the Press of Atlantic City, 88 year old Dorothy McGee served as a secretary on the borough’s school board for more than two decades, left the borough with vacant beach blocks on South 22nd Avenue.
She died last month. In her will, McGee said the lots needed to be dedicated as a city park, with a sign recognizing that the park was dedicated by McGee, and a gazebo is to be built there.
