Atlantic County Prosecutor Wants Independent Study On Police Staffing

Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynolds has called for the commissioning of an independent study on the issue of police staffing. The Press of Atlantic City reports the city has 297 police officers, Reynolds said during the city’s Clean and Safe meeting Friday morning, and 30 new officers on the way, which would increase that number to 327 once they’re sworn in.
The call for the study comes as the city has seen five homicides since the start of the year.
