The seven-member Galloway Township Council voted unanimously Tuesday to start the process of having the speed limit reduced on Old New York Road from 50 mph to 45 mph between Route 9 and Motts Creek Road.The ordinance is scheduled for a public hearing and final vote at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 27 in the municipal complex at 300 E. Jimmie Leeds Road. If approved, the next steps would then lie with Atlantic County.
