Atlantic County commissioners are set to introduce the county’s $262.1 million 2024 budget Tuesday, which would raise about $179.5 million through property taxes. According to the Press of Atlantic City, County Executive Dennis Levinson said Tuesday he expects the tax rate to fall almost five cents, from 43.8 cents to about 39 cents per $100 of assessed property value.
That is about four cents more of a rate cut than Levinson predicted in his January budget message.
About $88.3 million would be spent on salaries and $173.8 million on other expenses, according to the budget, which will have its public hearing 4 p.m. March 26 at the Stillwater Building.
