ACSO Warns Of Scam Calls

The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office is advising residents to be on the lookout for phone scammers. According to the Press of Atlantic City, the office received reports that two men had called people pretending to be from the Sheriff’s Office and demanding payment to avoid arrest. The Sheriff’s Office or any other local police department will never call you to ask you to provide money or financial information under the threat of arrest, the office said. If you’re ever unsure about the legitimacy of a call from someone claiming to be law enforcement, hang up and call the Sheriff’s Office at 609-909-7200 or your local police department.
