In June of 2023, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office launched the Atlantic County Violent Crime Initiative
(VCI). This initiative is a collaboration of multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies operating
within Atlantic County. Atlantic County’s VCI meets formally on a monthly basis to identify the most violent
offenders and coordinate law enforcement efforts. As of December, 2023, eight (8) VCI offenders have been charged and
arrested: five (5) adults; three (3) juveniles. ACPO won every pre-trial detention motion on each VCI offender.
ACPO has also succeeded in every substantive motion filed in a VCI case.
